Photo Diary | DC Alley Museum in Blagden Alley
In honor of Throwback Thursday I want to share a few photos I got while on one of my "adventures" over the summer. If you can remember back I shared an outfit post shot in this same location and in the post I mentioned a little about the outdoor museum I found in DC. Blagden Alley in the Shaw neighbor is home to the DC Alley Museum and I have to say it is pretty amazing. The art is raw and tells a story that has to be seen in person to be heard. In true museum fashion all of the paintings have cards stating the artist and a little bit about the piece, but what makes it even more special is that the outdoor space is like a treasure hunt. It's a little hard to find but once your'e there you can walk through the different alleyways and discover every piece of art that lives there. I specifically went to see the Erykah Badu painting *pics in slideshow* and was blown away by the colors and techniques used to capture Ms. Badu. Also for all of my coffee drinkers out there, there's a cool coffee shop that fits in with the whole vibe of the museum.
I can't believe I held on to this post for so long but I'm glad to be sharing it with you now! If any of you live in the DMV please do yourself a favor and check this place out. I'm not sure how long it'll be around but definitely get on it before it's gone! I wish I would've taken more pictures of the art but I hope you enjoy the bits that I did get.
Until next time
